In the newest installment of the long-beloved Animal Crossing franchise, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a large cast of villagers which range from the good to the bad, to the ugly. Other amiibo series are compatible, and scanning them introduces exclusive characters and items. On November 11th, 50 new amiibo cards were released featuring these 50 new villagers. The Welcome amiibo update features additional 50 villagers from original era games who did not appear in later games (34 from Doubutsu no Mori, 3 from Animal Crossing, and 13 from Doubutsu no Mori e+), as well as 16 new villagers, who are based on characters from other video game franchises (including Felyne and Filly, who debuted in Happy Home Designer). 50 villagers from Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+ who were absent in New Leaf and earlier entries also return to the series with this update.
